Organic fruit & veg, chosen by hand, every morning.

A small shop on Charlton's old high street, run by Bardan Pradhan since 2017 — fresh produce from Kent and Surrey, bulk refills to cut down on plastic, and someone behind the counter who knows what's good this week.

What's good this week

The shelves change with the season — organic veg boxed up front, jams and store-cupboard jars behind, refill jars for grains, oil and seeds so you can bring your own container.

Graffiti aubergine £7/kg long aubergine, spotted on the counter this week
Cauliflower & Romanesco from £1.80 whole heads, small and large
Kentish squash £1.90 each butternut, class I

Prices move with the market — what's chalked up on the day in the shop is the one that counts.

Kent fruit, Surrey eggs, Greenwich wine and bread.

Bardan took the shop on in 2017 and turned it into an organic grocer — eggs from Surrey, fruit from Kent, and wine and bread from businesses over in Greenwich, alongside the everyday fruit and veg. The display crates on the shelves are made from recycled materials by adults with learning disabilities, through a partnership with Greenwich Mencap.

Twice now the shop has been named High Street Business of the Year at the Best of Royal Greenwich Business Awards — first in 2020, then again in 2024 — recognition Bardan puts down to the shop's part in the neighbourhood as much as what's on the shelves.
